secrets

Dear Tumblr,

You are my dirty little secret.

I’m cheating on Facebook and My Opera with you.

Yahoo and Gmail too.

Though my Twitter feed rats me out.

If anyone bothers to click the link.

And follow it through.

Then they’ll know.

About you.

A place I can spill the secrets.

Of my heart.

Love,

Janean

Your “I will Think of You” dedication for your late employer was simply lovely. I am very sorry for your loss and at the same time glad that he suffers no more. Hope you are very well. Thank you for following and welcome to Tumblr. :)

Thank YOU right back, pallid-fire. I have so many memories from those working years, and more memories of the man himself. I shared my poem, “I will think of you”, with his widow via snail mail. It felt right to do so, as she loved him most of all. I look forward to following you and your writing. Tumblr is a friendly place and felt like home, right from the start. Tumblr’s been wooing me. I admit it. ~ Janean

pallid-fire:

I find sunrise to be a repetitive notion, an idea that never tires – that each day is a fresh start, another chance to get it right, a blank page awaiting it’s story.

What will you write today?

I love sunrise. I took pictures of the golden glow on the horizon with pink clouds in a pale blue sky above this very morning. Early. I awoke when it was dark and savored the sunrise. Like many days before. ~ Janean

thegirlsoul:

every thought
is a window
to another thought
that is deeper
and more beautiful
every thought again can
lead me astray
upon an unknown path
where i shall discover
things i never knew
every thought
is essential
since it allows you
to move without moving
growing more and more
into your ultimate self…

All I have to offer, you’ll find
between these outstretched arms.
A none too pretty fractured heart
that hides behind the charm.
Resonating broken rhythm
the shallow beat echoes the pain
as loves rejection squeezes tight
but still I yearn to love again.
So should you try to fill the space
betwixt the cracks of fragments past
I’ll love you unconditionally
forever and always and always to last.

(via graciouswords)

I dare you

I sent my poem, “one woman zoo” to a friend.

She replied, “Love ur poem..i had not read it. Made me smile.”

I answered with:

Glad the poem made you smile.

That was the point of sending it.

You’re a pretty lady.

Smile more.

It’ll disarm your husband.

In a good way.

In a mysterious, “Wonder what she’s up to?” way.

Grin like the Mona Lisa with your lips curved and your mouth closed and a sparkle in your eyes.

She’s been making people wonder what she’s thinkin’ for over 500 years.

He’s only known you for twenty, but I bet you can still captivate and mesmerize him if you try.

You’ve got the power.

Use it.

I dare you.

*because I haven’t been to a sleep over with a good game of Truth or Dare in way too long*

one woman zoo

I can
snap like a snappin’ turtle
growl like a grizzly bear
prickle like a porcupine
squeeze like a boa
snort like a pig
bark like a dog
cluck like a hen
crow like a rooster
slither like a snake
hoot like an owl
chatter like a monkey
hop like a frog
wiggle like a worm
watch like a hawk
flutter like a butterfly
purr like a cat
nap like a lion
be quiet as a mouse
I am
a one woman zoo
though I can’t
run like a cheetah
Can you?

Written because it suited my mood, a snappin’ one. Some days are like that. *sigh*

longing for romance

It’s wanting to be swept off our feet with ooey gooey love stuff.

Just every now and then.

Buy me flowers.

*because you know they make me smile*

Ask me to go on a date, just us.

*and don’t watch TV at the restaurant when we get there*

Hold my hand in public.

*like you used to*

Kanoodle with me on the couch, even if the children are still awake.

*it’s OK for them to see their parents kissing, even if they say, “Ewwww” and leave the room*

Love me.

*even when I’m growling like a grizzly bear*

*because that’s when I need your lovin’ the most*

I won’t bite.

*unless you want me to*
