When I get home

I’m makin’ myself

a grilled cheese sandwich 

on whole wheat bread

with yellow mustard

sharp cheddar

and green olives

hold the onion

you started it

I’ve been thinkin’ of one

all day long

100+ miles from home

and only a deli nearby

it’s past time for supper

wish this was on my plate
