Untangled

I'm all untangled
Calm and peaceful
Smooth as glass
No storm front
Brewin' within

I'm all untangled
Unjangled
Quiet
Still
Serene

I'm all untangled
Hopin' this feelin'
Lasts awhile
Feels so good
On the inside

I'm all untangled
It's a good thing
A God Thing
Trusting in Him
Finding comfort

I've spent the past week Makin' Art. The kind that comes from a place deep inside you and just HAS to be made. It is Scary Exciting to complete it and share it. Especially with people you know. (The Strangers are the easy part.) Now that it's completed, framed and on display I'm Calm and Peaceful. Here's hopin' this amazing feeling will last…like the art I just spent time makin'…

This is a photo of the the Caribbean Sea, calm and serene, in the shades of blue and turquoise I now think of as, "Bahama Blue". It was taken on a Long Ago Magical Trip that sounds like a Fairy Tale and felt like one too in August 2006.

  1. Love the poem and the picture. Just thinking about MY Caribbean "untangles" me as well. I have visited the caribbean many many times and it's the most beautiful serene place on earth that I've found…and I've looked most everywhere. Would love to live there except for hurricane season. Azul..

  2. Sarah writes:Love this Janean ! So glad you are so happy and doing well. I can't believe that is a real pic you took! I want to go there. Look forward to seeing your art 🙂 Lv u.

  3. Thanks, Kevin. I was just there that one time. How wonderful you sailed through there on more than one occasion. It is a wonderful, beautiful, amazing spot in the world. Time stands still there with the sound of the ocean and warmth of the sun and gentle breezes floatin' through every now and then (as long as it's not hurricane season). I found my Inner Beach Bum the week we were there. I've never been so brown as I was comin' home form that trip. Yes. Azul. :)Sarah! So good to see your comment here! YOU'VE been to Hawaii and Mexico and some other wonderful places. I've been to Long Island, Bahamas for one week long ago and far away. I'd think it were a Dream if it weren't for the Photo Evidence I/We were really there. In the FB album with my most recent art pics is a Bahama Inspired piece. You'll know it when you see it because of the shades of Bahama Blue, or Azul, to use Kevin's Spanish word for Blue. Love you, too, Sweet Sister of Mine.

Thanks, Nicolas! It was A Good Day, the day I wrote this. Life has taken a few twists and turns since then, but at the root of it I am still mostly calm on the inside. A few weeks ago I based a piece of artwork on this photograph and titled it, "Bahama Blue". The sky is watercolor and the foreground made of torn paper. Of the seven pieces I showed that day it received some notice. Probably because it was a drizzling rain December day and the beach scene and Caribbean was so inviting. ~ Janean

  6. I wish you good health, balance and a lot of creativity in the New year Janean!

    Jill,
Thank you for your kind words.
It was a wonderful vacation, all those years ago.
    One of the best ever.
If we didn't have the pictures to prove it, I wouldn't believe we really went.
I'll get a post up with pictures about my one day art show.
    Promise.
April 2011 was such a wonderful month for me.
Sounds a but ridiculous to say aloud but 'tis true.
I was writing here at Opera, about whatever I wanted to say, planning an art show for a friend, and making art to show myself.
It was the month everything came together just right and at my children's spring program at school an acquaintance saw me and asked, "Have you lost weight?"
    To which I replied, "No."
And she replied, "There is something different about you."
Later, as I sat down in my own seat, it dawned on me I'd been writing and making art all month and felt lighter, on the inside, even if the pounds hadn't melted away on the outside.
I need to get back to that.
Working on finding the balance in that and still see to my family's needs too.
    Any tips or pointers?
    I'd welcome them…
    ~ Janean
