It’s a girl!
First bra.
First period.
First kiss.
First love.
First time.
Get married.
Buy a house.
Have a baby.
Buy a van.
Buy a bigger house.
Have baby #2.
Hysterectomy.
Host Thanksgiving.
That’s as far as I’ve gotten.
In the Passages to Womanhood.
More milestones await.
In the years ahead.
No hurry.
I am a woman.
Written on the morning of my first time cookin' the Thanksgiving turkey, November 24, 2011. Thankfully, the turkey itself, the rest of the meal, and the Family TIme all turned out Just Fine.

Janean,Passages in a poem. Like the six word biographies from a year or two back. There are some more I might think of. But, that's sure enough. You made your mother proud. She created new family memories for us in the remodeled Brown Cottage. Board games and baseball afterwards with the girls.Love you,Aunt Janet

Aunt Janet,I can think of some more as well. Most dealing with loss and heartache. They are for another piece of writing on a day my heart can stand up to the words. I missed the six word biographies. Brevity isn't one of my strengths. I was Born A Rambler. I set a pretty table and thought of Grandma Thompson, Grandma Murray and my mother. The women whose Thanksgiving feats I grew up partaking of, helping with the cooking, table setting and clean up. Thought Table Setter was probably my job to keep me out from under foot in the kitchen. Sounds like a wonderful day at Evergreen Heights. Heard the sun set in vivid hues over The River as well. How I wished I could be there, with all of you. Baseball and board games sounds marvelous! In years past we've had A Quilting Bee and even gone sledding! Those are two of my favorite Thanksgivings from more recent history. Love you too, Janean
