October Song

cowgirl boots hit the sidewalk
in a rhythmic fall
dog tags jingle too
fallen leaves crunch
beneath our feet
traffic sounds are few
listenin’ to an October song
on our evenin’ stroll
just me and my dog
Blue

Written in my head as Blue and I were walkin’ after dark on October 9, 2012.
Typed in e-ink the next mornin’ at Tumblr.

  1. Our ability is strong; To listen to October song.

  2. It does describe October very well. Happy November. It's getting cold here in Holland!

Sounds like you're getting your family settled in, Ben. Lots of changes to get used to, I'm sure…the climate being just one of them. Hello, Mad Scientist. Thank for following Ben over here and commenting. ~ Janean

Smiling at your rhyming comment, Sigmund Polanius.
Turns out my November Song sounds a lot like October's.

Well, I've been following your blog for a while now. :pI try to only comment when I have something to say that's worth saying. But I read it all!

Smiling back at you this morning, Sigmund Polanius. We had a bit of snow yesterday, on December 20, 2012, so I had to trade my favorite cowgirl boots for warmer, more practical snow boots. My December song is much more clomp-y than the rhythmic fall of October and November's. Wishing you all the best in the coming year. ~ Janean

Thank you, yet again, Mad Scientist.I've been sort of missing in action in My Opera Land this year…Tumblr has captured me with the ease of posting via mobile and simultaneously tweeting too. My hope/plan is to share some of my favorite Tumblr writing here at Opera in the coming year. How is it December 21, 2012, already?! My goodness this year has flown…~ Janean

  11. I wish the same too;It is nice to communicate with You.
