This morning I made pancakes from scratch, with my more than happy to help youngest son, who requested them.
Made sausage and scrambled eggs too.
Didn’t burn the toast.
Did a bunch of dishes.
Did more dishes.
Finished reading a library book that was due back to the library on Wednesday.
Oops.
Made a pot ‘o coffee because at 10:00 a.m. I was so tired I wanted to take a nap.
Made lunch.
Did the dishes.
Children went to play at their friend’s house.
Strategized with my husband on what gifts were for which boy and whether they were from Santa or us.
Wrapped Christmas presents.
Played a little Plants vs. Zombies.
Time to make supper.
And do more @&$#%^*+ dishes.
Put one load if laundry in earlier.
Should move that around too.
Will be chaperoning while my children and another 4-H family ring the bell for Salvation Army later this evening.
Should have gotten groceries.
Should have gone to the bank.
Should have returned that library book to pay less in late fees.
Did what I could.
Even if it wasn’t a super duper lot.
Happy Saturday!
Did you do anything fun?

i have been neglecting sleep
i have been writing poems
i have been thinking a lot
i have been erasing my past
i have been living less this time
i have been dying more to know…
I’ll write and write
All day and night
Until the ink spills
And each eye fills
Till I am ready
And my heart steady
To live once more
From my inner core
Without the darkness
As my mistress.
I’m hopeless and awkward and desperate for love!
Chandler Bing (via medication)
and the wind
took away a part
of my poem
a half of it
left behind
incomplete
forever to come…

O, Laundry Fairy
Where hast thou gone?
You haven’t separated the darks and lights.
The pile is growing, instead of shrinking, on the laundry room floor.
The clean clothes are still in baskets, not yet neatly folded, waiting to be put away, once the children awaken from a night of peaceful slumber.
Alas, where could you be?
Why have you forsaken me, in my hour of need?
You ran off with the Dish Fairy, didn’t you?
I have suspected you were in cahoots for some time now.
Ever since I caught you kanoodling, the last time things piled up around here.
I am not an ogre.
I believe in the Love At First Sight.
I believe in Happily Ever After.
I just wish I was the one kanoodling, instead of trying to chase down you two missing in action fairies.
Just know, the door is always open.
Plenty of dirty laundry and dishes await.
You are welcome to drop by anytime.
Hope you fly this way again soon.
Until then, guess I’ll pick up your slack.
Time to do the laundry, and the dishes.
My Rock Star Art Making, Art Showing, Name In The Newspaper AND On The Radio Week is Officially Over.
THUD!!!!!
Back to Reality.
But, For The Record, I do believe in fairies.
(Just in case they are reading this note.)
Love,
Janean
I am not tidy and perfectly organized but I can get the job done
I realized today that chaos is my natural habitat.
We are not sad,
We are not uncertain.
Weaknesses and Strength.
Trials and Errors.
Loves and Losses.
Bad and Good.
We are life, fully lived.
the river in my eyes
contain plain truths
manifesting upon pages
as verses woven into poems
constantly reflecting through
the prism of my heart
what consists in my soul…

Here’s the wall view if you’re walking in like a drowned rat from the door that faces the parking lot in back. This weather is made for ducks, OR for staying’ home in pajamas, wearing’ fuzzy slippers, curled up with A Good Book and mug of hot chocolate. Later. When it’s time to go home.
