I bought these flowers last night at the grocery store.
A dozen yellow roses, clearance priced for $4.99.
The sticker says, “High & Exotic”.
Not sure what THAT means, but they are cheerful and fragrant and make me smile.
Even though I have yet to properly arrange them.
Even though the best I could do last night when I got home from the store at 9:15 p.m. was put ‘em in water.
Literally, stuck ‘em in a vase, just for now.
Will arrange them soon to enjoy them fully.
Until the blooms fade.
And the beauty of the bouquet ends.
For $4.99 I couldn’t leave ‘em at the store.
Yellow roses.
The color for Friendship.
Or simply the color of sunshine on a gray winter’s day.
I love having fresh flowers in the house.
Thankful they go on sale often enough that I can splurge every now and then.
And that my husband stopped alternately asking, “Who are the flowers from?” OR, “What are the flowers for?”
Once he figured out it was just me, being me.
Just because.
I love flowers.

Bathroom Graffiti #6
My favorite part of this shared thought, was the comment added at the bottom, complete with hash tag, as if these posts were on an electronic wall and not the interior of a women’s restroom stall at a big box grocery multi purpose shopping store.

“All girls are
beautiful in
their own way
some girls just
don’t know how pretty
they are till they find
a man that tells
them how beautiful
they really are
[heart] me”

Bathroom Graffiti #3
There was definite theme to the messages in this public restroom stall.
A Pep Talk that everyone woman, This One Included, needs every now and then.
It’s not the place I expected to find it, but since I did, figured I’d pass it on.

O, Laundry Fairy
Where hast thou gone?
You haven’t separated the darks and lights.
The pile is growing, instead of shrinking, on the laundry room floor.
The clean clothes are still in baskets, not yet neatly folded, waiting to be put away, once the children awaken from a night of peaceful slumber.
Alas, where could you be?
Why have you forsaken me, in my hour of need?
You ran off with the Dish Fairy, didn’t you?
I have suspected you were in cahoots for some time now.
Ever since I caught you kanoodling, the last time things piled up around here.
I am not an ogre.
I believe in the Love At First Sight.
I believe in Happily Ever After.
I just wish I was the one kanoodling, instead of trying to chase down you two missing in action fairies.
Just know, the door is always open.
Plenty of dirty laundry and dishes await.
You are welcome to drop by anytime.
Hope you fly this way again soon.
Until then, guess I’ll pick up your slack.
Time to do the laundry, and the dishes.
My Rock Star Art Making, Art Showing, Name In The Newspaper AND On The Radio Week is Officially Over.
THUD!!!!!
Back to Reality.
But, For The Record, I do believe in fairies.
(Just in case they are reading this note.)
Love,
Janean

Here’s the wall view if you’re walking in like a drowned rat from the door that faces the parking lot in back. This weather is made for ducks, OR for staying’ home in pajamas, wearing’ fuzzy slippers, curled up with A Good Book and mug of hot chocolate. Later. When it’s time to go home.
