You know his name
You know every hair on his head
You know his whole life story
from before he was a twinkle in his father's eye
You know the plans you have for him
You know the gifts you gave him
You know his thoughts
You know the cry of his heart
even if it is unspoken
You hear his prayers
You hear his cries
You hear his praise
You hear his sighs
You hear every word he speaks
and You answer
in Your time
You made the Universe
yet You love him as your child
You protect him as a fortress
You shield him with your strength
You embrace him in your arms
You comfort him with the Holy Spirit
He seeks You in your word
He reaches out to You in prayer
He thanks You with his words
He praises You with the work of his hands
He worships You in song
He stands in awe of Your mighty power
He teaches lessons about You
He walks by faith
In You
You are his All and All
You are with him
Always
You are his refuge
You give him strength Lord
For the battle ahead
You are on his side
Your will be done
Your plan is perfect
Amen
Written longhand in my journal, on June 6, 2011. My writing spot was the front passenger seat of the van on a family road trip vacation as my family of four moved from the Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee toward the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I left the adjoining page of my journal blank so I can fill it in with the scripture references for these promises from Him. The MRI is today. We'll know more about What's Next after the doctors read the results sometime later this week.
P.S. I took this picture of hovering storm clouds blocking the setting sun at a Thursday night soccer game on May 12, 2011.
