Snow melted.
More snow fell.
Then the rain came.
Snow is melting once again.
Winter in the Midwest.
The cycle of snow, rain and green grass continues, as January draws to a close and February will arrive in a few days time. This morning we once again awoke to snow. I'd say an inch or so, covering the ground. I wrote this little snow poem as a comment on Jill's Studio 41 blog, on January 22, 2012. She replied, "Nice" and I realized perhaps it needed it's very own feature spot here as well.

yes, I read this- I like it :)we may not get 'that' snow this year… but, I tend to always believe we will! even if it is in April. 😀
Thank you, Jill. For reading it…again. :)Admittedly, by April I'm DONE with snow and cold and ready for crocus, daffodils and tulips. ~ Janean

I'll look forward to reading them, dW.
I've taken more snow pictures since this one.
This was just a dusting that didn't turn into much more.
But the next picture was of my youngest son with his nose to the glass watching the snowflakes fall.
It's been a funny winter.
Mild.
On the warm side.
Amazingly that's exactly the kind of winter my husband needed since cold sensitivity is one of the side effects of the chemo he's undergoing.
Not to say we haven't had cold days, in the teens, when he's had to bundle up, but we've also had 40, 50 and 60 degree days with sunshine that feel like spring.
Those days are a gift.
As are all of them.

How's he doing, Lass?

Thank you for your note, Zena. Our Hope is in the Lord and our Strength comes from Him as well. That's how we face each day. That's how we hold up under the weight of my husband's stage 4 cancer diagnosis and the surgeries and treatment that have followed. Our children have great Faith too. We are so blessed and thankful for each day. (Even the pukey crabby ones because we're all still here and together.)Love,Janean

Oh, dW, he's tough and strong and fighting through the effects from the ongoing chemotherapy. The HOPE is that after all he's been through from the chemo/radiation combination last summer, then surgery #1 in September, surgery #2 in November, and now six months of chemo (for two days, every other week), is that he'll be CANCER FREE. Of course it means more tests and waiting, but we're up for that, when the time comes. Five more treatments to go. In my head I'm repeating, "May. He'll be done with chemo in May." It helps that May is closer now, than it was when he bagan this phase of treatment in mid-December. Thank you for being brave enough to ask. It's such a loaded question. ~ Janean
