jelly donuts

There are no jelly donuts in this picture. I don't buy 'em. They aren't my thing. This particular box of donuts came home with me on Saturday, July 2, 2011, after I finished painting on The Pod's wall. If you must know, I'm A Chocolate Covered Bavarian Creme Filled Gal. Can you find them in the picture? They were mmmmmm, so good too! But, I digress, distracted by the memory of these sugary delights. It's a little story about jelly donuts, and why they make me grin, that I recently shared as a Guest Blogger at (my aunt) Janet Riehl's site, http://www.riehlife.com. Thank you, Aunt Janet for featuring my sugar coated words on August 18, 2011.

  1. Janean,It's so much fun to be Blogging Buddies! And to be the proud aunt of such a witty niece.I haven't had any donuts at all for ages. And, so, no jelly donuts either. I don't see them in spreads at meetings or conferences either. Maybe they are going the way of gingerale. But, that's another conversation. ;~}Auntie J.

  2. Aunt Janet,It IS fun to be Blogging Buddies! And you're not going to believe this…there were donuts in our adult Sunday school class today. I gave them wide berth and resisted their glazed charms. After class I went on ahead of my husband, to pick up the children from Sunday school. When he met up with us again, he was carrying a donut box. Since he was still there talkin', our teacher sent him home with the leftover donuts. Really?! Must have been the word "donuts" whispered on the wind making them appear as if by magic in my kitchen after church today. Where, after lunch, I selected a chocolate iced donut sprinkled with nuts for dessert. Planing to resist the rest of them. Here's hopin' I can remain strong! Is gingerale on the Endangered Beverage List? I hadn't yet observed the demise of gingerale. In fact, my mother still buys it. I enjoy drinking it at my parent's house on occasion. I even ordered a gingerale while out with friends after a gallery gathering last month. Now my radar is up. I will pay closer attention. Love,Janean
