fall back
into my strength
lean on me
fall back
into my waiting arms
I will hold you
fall back
into memories
of times gone by
and remember
fall back
on family and friends
when darkness
is all you can see
fall back
into the love and light
that encircles you
fall back
to be propped up
until you can spring forward
once again
Yesterday was the day we changed our clocks before bed, for Daylight Savings Time. Well, most of them anyway. We "fall back" in the fall and "spring forward" in the spring. The words for this poem have been waiting for me to type them since yesterday evening. As I awoke today the words were there yet again and I knew which picture to post with them as well. I woke up at my usual time, no extra hour of sleep for me. Instead, EARLY became EARLIER, by new fall back standards. I'll be A Napping Naparoo later. You can count on it!
I am so thankful for all the arms that have caught me and all the strength that's been shared in the five months since my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer. I know my burden is lighter because it is shared by so many. Without the intercessory prayers, the prayers said by others on our behalf, we'd never have the strength to do what needs to be done.
This photograph is from our March 2009 visit to the Indianapolis Zoo. If you ever get the chance to go, it's a great family destination coupled with the Children's Museum of Indianapolis for a weekend getaway. This colorful leaf caught my eye, as we walked past on a drizzly gray Sunday morning. The less than sunny weather meant we had the zoo mostly to ourselves. The spring rain didn't deter us in the fun we had that day, before heading home, once again.
