thewritersaddress:

Art and creativity are so important. It gives people inspiration, hope, reasons to believe again. The power of your imagination is incredible, it gives birth to novels, paintings, sculptures, movies, poetry, music and so on.

I’m so blessed to have been given an imagination, and better yet the…

bein’ girly

I am bein’ girly today

meetin’ a friend this morn

we’re going to gab,

chit chat and laugh

while our feet are soaked,

scrubbed and buffed

then our toes

polished in vivid hues

we’ll slip our flip flops on

talk a little more

hug goodbye

both of us feelin’ lighter

on the inside

after our time together

sharing hearts

over pedicures

two women

bein’ girly

my birthday present

a little early

from a wonderful friend

who insisted

on treatin’

Thank you, Kim!

I. Can’t. Wait.

Will see you soooooon!

Love,

Janean

Mike Frawley: Let Tomorrow Cry

mikefrawley:

Let tomorrow cry for its self
let every yesterday gracefully go

This is the day you’ve waited for
the only day you’ll ever know

This day is perfect, for it is life
can you feel it, Your God is near

Nowhere else can love be found
we’re most blessed to have you here

The future contains no…

crazy dreams

I dreamt crazy dreams last night

of things I don’t want to happen

not for a long time

anyway

yet in my dreams it felt so real

losing you

too soon

and being strong

through it all

lest I embarrass you

from Heaven

but it hurt so much

felt

so real

shaking hands at the visitation

crying at the funeral

with our children beside me

missing you too

I was so relieved

to realize

it was just a dream

and you are still here

to love in person

when I awoke

from another night

of crazy dreams

swim upstream

“go with the flow”

you hear it all the time

so eventually you do

because it’s exhausting

to swim upstream

against the current

day after day

month after month

year after year

it’s easier to float along

“go with the flow”

agreeing

pleasing

smiling

on the outside

until the day when

you’re tired of drifting

tired of the easy way

tired of the sameness

of each and every day

you feel a spark

of your old self

on the inside

so you start

swimming

paddling

fighting

your way upstream

once more

as the spark grows

into an eternal flame

and you reclaim

doused dreams

you are determined

to never

“go with the flow”

again
