I found a seven of hearts while on my morning walk with Blue today. Of course I picked it up, sort of unearthed it, from where it was lying. The whole card is there, folded over and stuck together, with grass and dirt in the middle. Does anyone know the name of the movie where the male lead found playing cards in random places and ALWAYS picked them up? I know I didn’t imagine it, and admittedly it’s driving me crazy that I can’t quite recall. Google doesn’t often let me down, but today it did. I KNOW this was a plot point in at least one romantic comedy. The question is, WHICH ONE?! (Perhaps it’s time to have some coffee?) ~ Janean

This is where I come from.
Sparkly hearts that say, “LOVE” on my parents front door.
They will celebrate 45 years of marriage on February 17, 2013.
Not every year was easy.
The hard ones thankfully few.
Mom told me once, “You don’t divide the love, you multiply it.”
Love Math is her Greatest Gift.
My dad loves GREAT BIG too.
I am theirs.
Forever and always.
This is where I come from.
From my parents abiding love.

A Clarity of Conscious: My Armor

My armor

For most of recent life I’ve worn armor,
To protect from bullets and blast,
While in the service and with the force,
Until the danger passed.

The armor then would be removed,
Until the next shift or fray,
Hung in a locker or stowed with my gear,
Ready no matter the day.

Dear You,

You got it.

Whatever you need.

I can’t read your mind.

Guess I missed your subtlety.

Thank Heaven for Tumblr.

So our hearts can have this conversation.
