1. Candy for breakfast, LEGO gifts and an egg hunt before church result in tears and a melt down when it’s time to get ready. The children’s tears. Not mine. This time.
2. Try on the dress from July that you plan to wear on Easter Sunday BEFORE you’re running late that morning with no time to spare and realize that even with your suction suit on the skirt is too short in back to wear to church or anywhere in public.
3. Congrats on your Plan B ensemble. It’s lovely with dark gray pinstripe slacks, a pale gray tank edged in lace and a blush-colored, short sleeved, finely knit sweater with a strand of hematite beads in shining gunmetal gray.
4. There isn’t really time to blog on Easter morning AND be on time for church. We may be a bit late to church, but we’ll be there. Soon. Glad my husband is driving.

The Easter Bunny, a.k.a. me, can still find tricky spots to hide eggs. It was a fun egg hunt that started in the backyard and ended in the front. Blue wasn’t sure what they were doing, but thought it looked like fun. Youngest son won…with only a few hints from his mom, when his older brother wasn’t looking. Happy Easter! Can you tell it’s one of my favorite mornings of the year?! Oh, it SO is! ~ Janean

the disappearing rabbit
gone in record time
chocolate for breakfast
must be Easter
chomp
hopping right along
My third grade son said, “Good Morning, Bunny” when he saw me this morning.
On spying the Easter candy corn, jelly beans and m&ms in his Easter basket he said, “Sort of like a dessert mix.”
Both boys are chomping chocolate rabbits for breakfast.
One egg hunt coming right up.
Church too.
Happy Easter to YOU!

Thank you, God
for sending your only Son
to die on the cross for me,
a sinner,
saved by grace.
Love,
Janean

birds are chirping
clock is ticking
sun has yet to rise completely,
though the backyard is brightening
church begins at 10:00 today
the parking lot will be full
that’s A Good Thing
and A God Thing
as the pews are packed
to hear the greatest story
ever told
a baby born to a virgin
living a sinless life
while working miracles on Earth
before dying on the cross
for our sins
and on the third day
the Son rose completely
that we may have eternal life
in Heaven
if we just believe on these things
the birth, death and resurrection
of Jesus Christ, our Lord
for He is risen
the stone was rolled away
the tomb is empty
today is all about singing
Hallelujah

My Country song keeps gettin’ better and better…
Glad my sweet Blue pup got in to see the vet today.
If you’d ask, Blue, well, not so much.

“Happy Day Before Easter!”
it’s the kind of thing my mom always says
I’m the mom now
twas a magnificent sunrise
with red clouds
atop a golden glow
three dozen eggs are boiling
and the youngest boy age eight
is awake and asking, “When?”
“When are we going to dye eggs?”
soon
they are boiling now
and we wouldn’t start
without your brother
busy day
this Saturday
soccer game one at 11:30
soccer game two at 1:30
family meal at my in-laws at 4:00
Easter pageant (night two) at 7:00
a vet trip is pending
my sweet Blue pup had surgery on Wednesday
for, well, you know
and a hernia repair too
he’s pathetic and lethargic
and I’m a worried dog mom
we’re going to laugh, love, smile and cry
hopefully happy tears
perhaps growl a bit too
(and I’m not talkin’ about Blue)
for these are the things families do
indeed it is a
Happy Day Before Easter
…and I just bet
that my mom
will still wish me one
before the day is through

Tonight I wore zebra socks to walk the dog under a full moon.

Yesterday I said to my mother, “My life feels like a Country song today.”
I sang a few bars in summary and she shared my grin.
My mom’s always said, “You can laugh, or you can cry.”
I’m thankful yesterday was for hysterical laughter with only borderline hysteria.
