here’s the second photograph
of this morning’s vivid glow
the luminescent color has since faded
to a muted lavender
with merest hints of gold
thank you, God, for the beauty of the sunrise
which soothes my aching soul

this is why I can’t unplug
walkin’ back into the kitchen
from boy wakin’
laundry foldin’
and dog wranglin’
I took one look out the deck doors and said with awe and wonder, “Look at the sky!”
then I grabbed my camera with phone and internet functions too
took a pic…well, actually two
and had to share with you

I didn’t take long to decide that today was goin’ to be a hang-outside-your-son’s-second-story-bedroom-window-to-take-a-picture-of-the-pink-cloud-sunrise kind of day. *serene smile and happy sigh* Good morning!

I’m back inside after walkin’
‘round the block with Blue
under an inky black starlit sky
in the early mornin’ hours
the wind is blowin’ briskly
the temp has dropped past chilly
we didn’t care
dog stopped to sniff and do his biz
I kept good pace down the sidewalk rockin’ my dancin’ frog pajamas
barefoot in my cowgirl boots

an early morning fog hovers
thickest by rooftops
chased away by streetlights
and yet stars twinkle through
Light shines from Heaven above
saying, “I Am here”
even in the dark, quiet, stillness
of an early morning walk
with that dog I love so BIG
God loves me more

Last night I slept not long, under the grin of a crooked crescent moon.
On an early morning walk with the dog, the stars were still a twinklin’.
But try as I might, I couldn’t find that slim, silver crescent in the dark of early morn.

subtle colors
quiet in tone
this morning’s sun rose
in shades of peach
warming to gold
with the palest of blue
mmmmmmm
oh, so lovely
a soothing balm
much needed
for this hurting heart
today

“tickled pink”
this morning’s pink cloud sunrise
though this photo doesn’t do it justice
sometimes I long for an unobstructed Eastern view
with no trees, leaves or houses in the way
maybe
maybe someday

pink clouds in the sunrise
it’s going to be a good day
they always make me smile
that’s how I know
‘cause here I stand
under morning’s glow
smiling up at the sky
and sighing happy sighs
because of the pink cloud sunrise
and perhaps a few things more
smiling serenely to myself
and sighing happy sighs galore

The oven timer beeped, “done” at 8:30a.m.
I asked my youngest son, as he was quietly sitting nearby, to tell his big brother, “The cinnamon rolls are ready, it’s time for him to save his game, power down and come upstairs to eat.”
Next thing I knew the basement door was flung open, and that littlest boy used a great big voice to shout, “Get your butt up here! Breakfast is ready!”
I gotta admit, his big brother listened and I laughed aloud in reply.
I was still chuckling and smiling as I handed ‘em each a plateful of iced, cinnamon goodness, baked from a refrigerated Pillsbury tube.
Good morning.
May your day be A Good One.
I’m smiling here, still charmed by my youngest son’s cut to the chase translation.
