The hallway with windows doesn’t have sunshine today. The Chicago skyline is nearly obscured by tiny snow flurries are falling clouds.

I smiled quietly this morning
standing in a window lined hallway
seven stories up
savoring the sun shining in
turned toward North
(I guess)
since Chicago skyline
is on the horizon
I’d stepped out of the hospital room
to call my sister
left a message for her
with my voice breaking
and a few tears falling
at the end

I saw the sun comin’ up this mornin’, a little past 7:30a.m., from the main floor of the hospital. I am rather partial to blue sky and sunshine. Welcoming them (always) as a good sign.

last day of vacation
Stupid leaf blower poolside is ruining my serenity. Grrrrr
Time for more coffee and oatmeal anyway – food service started at 7:00. Saturday morning I’ll be food service again. Laundress and dog walker and cat care lady too. The break’s been nice though. Palm trees and sunshine worked their magic. Nice to have a week without too many tears. ~ Janean

at the farm
Outside again. Fourth time since 4:30am. Love the sunshine on my face and birdsong. Crazy woofing dog didn’t need to go, he found a stick and plopped in the shade to chew. “Stress?! What stress?!”, says Blue as he grins at me with his tongue lollying out one side of his mouth, looking crooked and quite hilarious. Sometimes I give in, and lie in the shade next to him in the grass and look up at the sky through a canopy of leaves. A Dog’s Eye View. He’s a smart pup, my Blue.
it was a be-a-u-ti-ful day today
amazingly so
we can’t quite believe the unseasonably warm,
lack of bone chilling wind,
sunshine not rain,
daffodil bloom filled days
it is only mid March
and it feels like May
amazing, remarkable, wonderful
and I’m sure not complaining
I spent the afternoon outdoors
visiting with a friend
she is also my husband’s sister

the dogs were there too
hers and mine
they ran free
no leashes needed at the farm
we lay in the grass
sat up some too
walked when needed
sometimes in sun
sometimes in shade
always under the blue sky above
with white puffy clouds
the happy kind
and air warm enough
we were just in shirt sleeves
everyone is going to sleep well tonight
yes, it was a be-a-u-ti-ful day
this morning is filled
with the glow of sunshine,
blue sky,
the gentlest whisper
of a breeze,
and the promise
of spring
in the yellow
of an early daffodil’s bloom
sighing content sighs
and smiling a serene smile
as this new day dawns
anew
Spring makes my heart sing
Can you tell?
I got my wish
for sunshine
and blue skies
so I’m sitting outside
on the patio
while the dog
lies in the grass
chewing on a stick
as for me
I’m soaking up sunshine
on this January morning
feeling thankful
and warmer
from the glorious sun
Thankful for blue skies and sunshine.
